Carbon Capture
Our SaveEnergy carbon capture is designed specifically for biomass-fired systems, and can capture CO₂ at rates from 500 to 5,000 kg/h. Or, you can connect multiple units for even higher rates!
Additionally, we've created a special solvent called SaveEnergy Hortisol, which can handle the tough conditions after wood combustion. Plus, it's biodegradable and easy to use.
We recover 90% of the energy used for CO₂ capture with our SaveEnergy heat management, which makes SaveEnergy CAPT very energy-efficient!
After the SaveEnergy electrostatic precipitator and flue gas condenser, the preconditioned and cooled flue gas goes into the CO₂ absorber. Here, the flue gas is washed with the Hortisol solvent, which removes the CO₂.
The CO₂-containing solvent then goes into the CO₂ desorber (also called a stripper), where the CO₂ is evaporated from the solvent. The CO₂-free solvent is then sent back to the absorber in a closed circuit.
The CO₂ is dried and purified, and the clean & dry biongenic CO₂ can be used on-site as a gas or liquified.
